Why Amos and family law?

Published: 29.4.2019

I am a relatively experienced in-house lawyer. Over the last few years, I quickly noticed the power of change in the way colleagues, in particular, approached me. They, from cleaner to CEO, came to me saying they needed some legal help with their family law. The individuals were a little uncomfortable about bothering me. Many times it was about making a will, prenuptial agreement, care will or the like. I identified a need in my immediate circle for which there was a demand but the supply was so obscure that I couldn't find it. In my circle of acquaintances, my friends' parents are of the pre-war or post-war generation. I have noticed a phenomenon elsewhere in my neighbourhood, where one or other of them has a current question about how their own or their parents' affairs will be dealt with in due course. We inevitably grow older and our circumstances change over the course of our lives. There are marriages, cohabitations, reconstitutions, births and deaths of loved ones. Many times, contacts with me have been in relation to trusts, donations, making a will or writing an inheritance. Many have also asked for more help and advice on tax planning.

This is the cry Amos wants to answer. We want to encourage people to get their paperwork in order on time. Amos is the answer for people who are planning their lives ahead and taking a healthy care of their loved ones and themselves through planning. This is a kind of self-management of one's life.

With my background in business, I also do corporate law. I am happy to assist in various contractual matters related to commercial transactions and to efficiently manage the company's paperwork. Entrepreneurs can focus on managing their business.
